Carbon Footprint

With the ever increasing knowledge of global warming, everyone needs to do their part in reducing their carbon footprint. And everyone at Big Blue Finance wants to do their part, so over the past few months we have introduced more and more ways too in our normal business practices, which we hope will help our footprint.

2nd May . . . 

After a recent move to new premises to the country we are finally planting tress!  Thanks to Sarah in sales and her great idea, we will now looking to buy and plant more and more trees. We know it's a small step but we feel every little bit helps.

16th January . . .

It's the start of the new year and after much effort and training we are now a paperless office! It takes some getting used too, but once you have over come the need for paper, it all works fine.

25th October . . .

Today we launched our carbon footprint details on our web site. So please send us ideas of what you are doing and what else we can do.

19th October . . .

This was the first day of our company car sharing scheme, not only is it saving fuel but it is also a lot more friendly!

5th October . . .

The data from our filing has now been scanned in and uploaded, so now the old cabinets are off to be recycled with new start companies in our area.

1st October . . .

We have introduced a bespoke computer system which now handles all our processes. From client applications to accounts, we now have a system which is paper free. We have estimated that we will save 60,000 sheets of paper a year! All our data is stored by a bank level security system and is one of the most advanced systems in our line of business.

21st September . . .

Today we started the long process of moving all our current filing from paper to electronic storage. Buy doing this we will save space, reduce the need for an amazing amount of paper use and increase our service levels. With all this stored electronically we hope to reduce our need for so much non recyclable materials.

1st September . . .

As the first part of our go green effort, from today we shall be recycling all the office waste, from cans to all our shredded paper. We have also looked at our use of electrical items, all of these now automatically shut down when they are not in use.
